Chamber Music
In addition to concerts for large orchestras, the musicians of the BSOF are also passionate about smaller formats and chamber music. Our chamber music series ‘Sonntagsmatineen’ (Sunday Matinees) has become extremely well established. This series also demonstrates the great artistic diversity and quality of our orchestra. The ‘Sonntagsmatineen’ feature a wide variety of chamber music ensembles from the BSOF, including duos, various trios, string quartets, quintets, septets and nonets.
Even though it is not a ‘classic’ ensemble in the strict sense of the word, our Monkfish Jazz Trio is also one of our smaller formations and has gained a large fan base over many years.
Due to the renovation of the Frankfurt Concert Hall and the resulting relocation of our events, our ‘Sunday Matinees’ in 2025/26 will take place at the Kleist Museum in Frankfurt and in the new atrium of Frankfurt City Hall.

In addition, we have developed the chamber music series ‘Zukunftsmusik’ (Music of the Future) in Strausberg in cooperation with the Strausberg housing association SWG.
Furthermore, our chamber music ensembles and jazz trio regularly perform at a wide variety of venues in Brandenburg and Berlin.
