We are opening the 2025/26 season with an evening dedicated entirely to Richard Wagner. We will perform excerpts from his operas Der fliegende Holländer (The Flying Dutchman), Tannhäuser and Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods) in concert.
The Wagner arias will be sung by one of the best German-speaking Wagner interpreters. Daniela Köhler has sung to outstanding acclaim in Wagner productions at the Zurich Opera House, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Komische Oper Berlin, the Semperoper Dresden, in Mainz and in Leipzig.
Further guest appearances brought the singer repeatedly to the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Philharmonie Luxembourg and the Müpa in Budapest. Daniela Köhler has been a regular guest at the Bayreuth Festival for many years, with whose company she also toured Abu Dhabi.
This evening will be conducted by the Viennese opera specialist and winner of several international competitions, Azis Sadikovic.
