Bassoon Concerto – Classical Music on Sunday Extra

- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Bassoon Concerto B flat major KV 191/186e
- Carl Maria von Weber: Andante e Rondo ongarese C minor Op. 35 for Bassoon and Orchestra
- Gioacchino Rossini: Bassoon Concerto
- Emanuel Blumin-Sint, Bassoon
- Elisaveta Blumina, conductor
Emanuel Blumin-Sint is a rising star in the classical music world. The 20-year-old bassoonist has already performed solo at New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Elbphilharmonie. He has worked with Sir Simon Rattle and won more than a dozen first prizes in competitions. In 2024, he was awarded the Fanny Mendelssohn Förderpreis, which enabled him to release his début album, Leading Bassoon.
In this »Classical Music on Sunday – Extra«, he plays three of the most beautiful tributes to his instrument. Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto is a poetic reverie that is tailor-made for the warm, singing tone of the bassoon. And Rossini beautifully combines the soft tone of the bassoon with lightness and Italian flair.
The concert will be conducted by Elisaveta Blumina, the soloist’s mother. The ECHO KLASSIK award winner is internationally renowned as a pianist and performs from New York to Berlin. She has also long since established herself as a conductor.
