Participatory concert with Rune Thorsteinsson »Feel the Rhythm!«

»Feel the Rhythm! – Feel the Beat!« Under this theme, the BSOF, together with Rune Thorsteinsson, invites you to a grand interactive concert. Rune Thorsteinsson and his trio are known for breaking the mould of traditional concerts. Nothing is safe with them; everything becomes an instrument. They play on glockenspiels as well as on bowls of water, and drum not only on instruments but also on their own bodies.

This way, everyone in the hall can, may and should join in. Rune Thorsteinsson draws on the body’s intuitive movements and sound-making abilities, so that everyone can get straight into body percussion – clapping, snapping fingers and stamping feet: anything goes.

The result is a soundscape featuring rhythm-driven tango, jazz and Latin grooves. Even our orchestra musicians have to prove their sense of rhythm. They are not always allowed to hold their instruments either but are drawn into the exhilaration of rhythm and body percussion.

The concert centres on the physical experience of music and this interactive community project.

Although designed for primary school children, all music and rhythm enthusiasts, young and old alike, are warmly invited to become part of our rhythmic extravaganza!
