»A Journey from the Seine to the Oder« – that is the title of the 2027 New Year’s Concert. We would like to take you on a musical journey from Paris to Berlin-Brandenburg. The concert programme features composers who were active in, or composed works for, these respective cities. The diverse works draw on the typical New Year’s waltz rhythms and augment them with local flavour.
The programme takes on an even more international character thanks to American presenter and singer Gayle Tufts. With humour and effortless charm, she will guide us through the evening and usher in the New Year with verve. Musically, too, she draws on the cities of Paris and Berlin. With her rendition of the world-famous chanson La Vie en Rose, she immerses herself in the Paris of the last century. On the Berlin side, she presents a tribute to Marlene Dietrich. Our GMD Felix Mildenberger will be conducting; here you can experience him not only with the symphonic repertoire but also with a very lively programme.
